UponUs values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, protect, and manage your information when you use the UponUs mobile application and related services.
1. Information We Collect - Full Disclosure
1.1 Personal Information
We may collect:
• Full Name
• Mobile Number
• Email Address (if provided)
• Profile Photo (if uploaded)

⚠️ We DO NOT collect government IDs, financial account numbers, health data, or biometric information.
1.2 Account & Preferences
We store:
• Language preference (Telugu / English)
• Notification settings
• Saved preferences
• App theme preference
1.3 User Submitted Content
Users may submit:
• Events
• Promotions
• Comments
• Prayer Requests
• Messages
• Uploaded Images

⚠️ This content may be publicly visible. Do not share sensitive personal information in public posts.
1.4 Device Information & Identifiers
We automatically collect:
• Device Model
• Operating System & Version
• App Version
• IP Address
• Android ID (device identifier)
• Google Advertising ID (resettable by user)
• Crash Logs
• Usage Statistics (screens visited, taps, session duration)
1.5 Location Information
With your explicit permission, we may collect:
• Approximate location (network-based)
• Precise location (GPS - only if you enable 'Nearby Events' feature)

You can disable location access anytime in device settings.
1.6 Financial & Payment Data
UponUs uses Google Play Billing for all purchases. We do NOT collect, store, or process:
• Credit/Debit card numbers
• Bank account details
• UPI IDs or PINs
• Any payment credentials

All transactions are handled securely by Google Play.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your information only for:
Creating and managing your account
Authenticating login and preventing fraud
Providing Telugu/English content based on preference
Showing nearby events (if location enabled)
Improving app features and performance
Sending important notifications (events, prayer requests, updates)
Providing customer support
Analyzing crashes and fixing bugs
Preventing spam, abuse, or policy violations

We do NOT sell your personal data to anyone.
We do NOT use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.
3. Payments & Monetization
UponUs may offer paid services including:
• Premium Event Promotions
• Featured Listings
• Paid Event Reach Boosts
• Future Subscriptions (ad-free, exclusive content)

All payments use Google Play Billing. Purchase history is stored only as required by tax laws. Refund policy: All sales are final unless required by applicable consumer laws. Contact Google Play Support for refund requests.
4. Advertising & Analytics
We use the following third-party services:

📢 Google AdMob (Advertising)
   • May collect Advertising ID and usage data
   • Users can reset or limit ad tracking in device settings
   • See Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

📊 Analytics Services (Firebase, Google Analytics)
   • Collects anonymized usage data
   • Helps us improve the app

⚠️ Crash Reporting Tools (Firebase Crashlytics)
   • Collects stack traces and device info on crashes

You can opt out of ad personalization in device settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.
5. Permissions We Request
UponUs requests the following permissions (Android):

INTERNET – Required for app functionality
POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+) – For event reminders and updates
CAMERA – To upload profile photos or event images (optional)
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_MEDIA_IMAGES – To select images from gallery (optional)
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION – For nearby events (optional, user-initiated)
READ_CONTACTS – Only if you use 'Invite Friends' feature (optional)

All permissions are requested at runtime with clear explanation. You can revoke any permission anytime in device settings.
6. Community Content & Public Visibility
Content you submit may be publicly visible to other UponUs users:
• Events and promotions
• Comments on articles or events
• Prayer requests (unless marked private)
• Community posts
⚠️ We reserve the right to remove any content that violates our Community Guidelines or is illegal, harmful, or inappropriate.

Do not share personal contact information, financial details, or sensitive information in public posts.
7. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do NOT sell your personal data.

We may share data only with:
• Trusted service providers (hosting, analytics, crash reporting) under strict confidentiality
• Payment processors (Google Play Billing)
• Legal authorities when required by law, court order, or to prevent harm
• Business successors during merger, acquisition, or bankruptcy

Third-party services have their own privacy policies which we recommend you review.
8. Data Retention
We retain your information only as long as necessary:
• Account data: Until you delete your account
• Event submissions: Until event date + 30 days
• Analytics data: 14 months (anonymized)
• Crash logs: 90 days
• Transaction records: As required by tax laws (usually 6-7 years)

After account deletion, most personal data is permanently removed within 7 business days. Some anonymized or aggregated data may be retained for analytics.
9. Account Deletion & Your Rights (Detailed)
You have the following rights regarding your data:

1️⃣ Delete Account & All Data

Option A - Email Request:
• Send email to support@uponus.in with subject 'DELETE MY ACCOUNT'
• Must use your registered email address OR provide registered phone number
Processing time: Up to 7 business days
Verification: You will receive a verification email/SMS with a confirmation link
• You must click the confirmation link to complete deletion
✅ No fees charged for account deletion
• ⚠️ This action is IRREVERSIBLE

Option B - In-App Deletion (if available):
• Profile → Settings → Delete Account → Confirm

2️⃣ Request Data Copy (Data Portability)
• Email support@uponus.in with 'REQUEST MY DATA'
• We will provide a machine-readable copy within 30 days

3️⃣ Correct Inaccurate Data
• Update directly in app Profile section
• Or email support with corrections

4️⃣ Withdraw Consent
• Disable permissions in device settings
• Opt out of notifications in app settings
• Reset Advertising ID in device settings

5️⃣ Lodge Complaint
• Contact our Grievance Officer (see Section 15)
• Or contact Google Play Support

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
10. Security Measures
We implement reasonable security safeguards including:
• Encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL)
• Secure backend servers with access controls
• Regular security updates
• No storage of payment credentials

⚠️ However, no system is 100% secure. You also play a role by keeping your device and app updated and using a strong device lock.
11. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
UponUs is NOT intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately. We will delete such information promptly.

For users between 13-18, we recommend parental guidance.
12. Third-Party Links & Services
The UponUs app may contain links to:
• External websites (churches, ministries)
• YouTube videos
• Social media pages

We are NOT responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. You should review their privacy policies separately.
13. Policy Updates & Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically.

• Minor changes: Updated 'Last Updated' date only
• Major changes: In-app notice + email notification (if you have provided email)

Continued use of UponUs after changes means you accept the revised policy. If you disagree, please delete your account.

16. Consent to International Data Transfer
UponUs may store and process your data on servers located in India, the United States, or other countries where our service providers operate.

By using UponUs, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries with different data protection laws than your own. We take steps to ensure adequate safeguards are in place.
17. Do Not Track Signals
UponUs does not currently respond to 'Do Not Track' browser signals as there is no industry standard. However, you can limit tracking by:
• Resetting Advertising ID
• Opting out of ad personalization
• Using device privacy settings
18. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
• Know what personal data we collect about you
• Request deletion of your personal data
• Opt out of the sale of your personal data (we do not sell data)
• Non-discrimination for exercising your rights
